How to install 3rd party elements

PostThu Apr 01, 2021 1:14 pm

Can someone point me to a tutorial that explains how to take a title/transition/element/etc. pack that I have downloaded and install them into DR17. New to video editing and not how sure it is supposed to work. I've assumed that when I download them (they arrive as zipped .dmg files) that I just need to open/install using the Install Wizard like I would for any other software. But it doesn't seem to do anything - or I just don't know where to look in DR17 to find them.

When you unzipped them, what kind of files were they? Are they .settings files or some other kind? Have you checked the site where you downloaded them to see if they have an explainer video on how to use them?

Most of the time they unzip as .dmg files.

I am pretty sure that dmg files are used to install applications on macs or are similar to zip files, can you see if you can open it and see if there are files inside it?

Where did you download the file from?

when i read "install wizzard", i assume you are using windows?
.dmg include mac installer, or files that are only macOS compatible.
so if windows is true, then you have downloaded the wrong file.
