Speed Editor does Auto Trim Transistions in Edit page

PostMon Apr 05, 2021 5:25 am

Just trying out the Speed Editor with Resolve 7.1.1 and I seem to have found a new feature with adding transitions that I haven't seen referenced anywhere.
When trying to add a transition between clips that have no overlap you have to trim either side of the clips to create a sufficient overlap. On the Edit page, when using the mouse/keyboard, it conveniently prompts you and gives an option to automatically trim the clips. The Cut page it is not so helpful, and just flashes the edit point clip boundaries at you.
However with the Speed Editor it is possible to use the Dissolve, Smooth Cut or Transition keys to add a transition with an automatic trim (if necessary) with one key press. But oddly, only on the Edit page, not the Cut page!
Hopefully this behavior will be added to the Cut page too and the Speed Editor functionality in other Resolve pages continue to be improved.
