I am having weird audio / video playback issues in Davinci Resolve Studio, that I was able to trace back to a problem between Davinci Resolve and my audio interface Steinberg UR28M. I've been having these issues since approx. end of last year. Across multiple of the last versions of Resolve.
This is a list of things happing:
EDIT: I have tried to switch through sample rates, modes, buffer sizes and USB ports with no luck.
EDIT 2: This only happens in DR, no other program is affected.
My system:
DaVinci Resolve Studio 17.1.1 Build 9
Steinberg UR28 Audiointerface on Driver v2.0.3
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X on X570 Asus Mainboard
32 GB Ram
Asus TUF RTX3090 on 465.89 GameReady Drivers
Windows 10 Pro 20H2
This is a list of things happing:
- Extreme stuttering of audiofiles (wav/mp3) playback in preview window, timeline playback is fine, though.
Some types of video do not play back smoothly anymore in preview window or timeline e.g. UHD h264 25fps 8bit 4:2:0 stutters but same specs with 10bit 4:2:2 clip works (no grades applied)
Audio recording in fairlight stutters extremly to a point that it is unusable
The playback stuttering seems to affect the whole system e.g. if I simultaneously run Spotify, the music will also stutter
When I open a project in Davinci Resolve Studio, the audio driver of my interface will show an USB error (see image attached). Does DR use ASIO?
