Resolve 17.1.1 crashes. on iMac

I am totally new to Resolve.
I have gotten an overview of the software and made a few videos, but it is all very basic, so I am a beginner.
My problem is that when I go to effects library (I am in edit mode) and browse through some of the effects, Resolve decides to shut down. Specifically it is the Generators effects from the Toolbox that triggers it. The rest of the effects seems to be previewing fine, but the second I click Generators it crashes.
Software/Hardware specs:
Resolve 17.1.1 (free version)
MacOS 10.15.7
iMac 27/5k/2017
4.2hgz Qaud/i7
40gb ram
Radeon Pro 580 8gb
3tb Fusion
If anyone would have any solution or at least an explanation on why this is happening I would be very greatful
