Hi,
I know this is a common problem, and I've been through all the youtube videos and all the forum posts here but nothing seems to apply.
Resolve 17.1 has been working awesome for me on my Alienware 13 r 3 laptop using its Realtek audio driver. Something happened a few days ago and I'm not sure what - maybe a windows update? and now no audio plays back and no audio metering shows up in any existing project or new project.
I have an NVIDIA GTX 1060 + Intel HD 630 in the laptop which works great. I recently did a HD project with 8 video tracks and 5 audio tracks and it worked beautifully.
Audio works fine in Windows 10 and in my DAW - Cakewalk by Bandlab

I've NO IDEA why it isn't working...?
I alos don't know why audio metering isn't working anymore in the Edit page, and the Playback head doesn't even move on the Fairlight page - only the play button turns Red when you do hit play but absolutely nothing happens. On the Edit page video plays, but no audio and no audio metering happens.
Pretty sure it's not a hardware issue because my DAW works fine. Please someone help as I've been going crazy for a couple of days trying to get this working again. Thanks!!

I've done everything listed here:
- Ensured latest Realtek driver is installed - ended up going to the Microsoft Update latest Cab file updates and getting that one - had tried the Dell/Alienware ones but they're old - the new Microsoft one seems fine
- Checked that Disable effects in the Audio Control Panel settings Properties is disabled
- Checked that the Realtek Driver is defaulting to 48000 playback in the Driver Properties
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Davinci Resolve 17.1.1 latest
- Tried rollingback and installed Resolve 17 - same problem
- Tried reseting the Resolve Preferences to default
- Tried checking Resolve Audio i/O from system settings to Manual and selecting Realtek for left & right
- Tried disabling all VSTs in Resolve
- Tried turning on and off Audio Scrubbing
- Double checked Bus is selected
- Double checked Edit Page Volume and Mute are not selected
- Double checked Audio DIM isn't hit
- Looked at Patch settings and it seemed ok??
