Canon C300MkII MXF Media Offline in Resolve 17

PostSun Apr 11, 2021 3:06 pm

Hi,

That's my first post so hello everybody and thank you in advance for helping.

I have a footage shot in RAW on C300MkII (recorded internally to CFast cards) and my DaVinci Resolve 17.1.1 can't handle the files showing them in red as "media offline". I can hear the sound but no video is available.

Is there any way to use these files in Resolve or I need to upgrade to Studio?
Can I maybe use some kind of proxies?

I'm pretty new to Resolve and to using RAW footage so showing how to handle this step by step will be highly appreciated.
I work on Mac with M1 chip (if it matters).

Many thanks in advance
Marcin

If you care to share a small clip, we can test in the Studio version.

But I'm not aware of any RAW limitations in the Free version, so my suspicion is that the format simply won't work, period.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Didn't try it on M1, but it works in Studio on Intel Macs.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM and iPhone 15 Pro

Hi,
Just solved it. It was enough to install Apple Pro Video Formats 2.1.1 and it works! The inspiration came from the article below:

Take care,
