I've been stuck on this for about a week now so I'm really hoping someone could suggest something.
I'll start at the end because the rest is ugly. Windows PC (specs below.) Fresh install of Windows with nothing else installed except Photoshop and drivers. Fresh install of Resolve Studio 17.1.1. Fresh install of NVidia Studio. New database. 500 MB/s sustained data transfer from my scratch SSD to my nvme. Things should be working.
One single 4k .braw clip about 20 seconds long. I cut about a 3 second clip in the middle of it and went into Fusion (I've tried this with making a Fusion clip first but the planar tracker didn't track it at all.) Planar tracked a street sign. Worked well. Added a paint node and a time stretcher. Looks great, tracks well. Added a .psd image over the sign and...may as well have released the kraken.
Now in the edit page I hit play and...nothing. It says 24fps but it's playing 0fps. After 5-10 seconds it skips ahead to just about the end and sits on another frame. Sometimes the short Fusion clip will render, sometimes it won't...like even after sitting for an hour. I have tried proxies with no different result. Even though I was previously able to rip through an edit of 6k .r3d footage, I have all of my cache and playback set at 1/4 and still nothing. Even if I disable Fusion effects in the edit screen, it still does not play back.
Please tell me I'm doing something wrong because I've run out of options. All I can think is that there is an issue because it's a 60fps clip on a 24fps timeline but that still shouldn't make playback impossible.
