Are jumbo frames recommended for best performance?

I'm trying to tune our network for best performance in our collaborative environment. Our network is 10Gb SFP+ fiber. Is it recommended to use jumbo frames on the network?

Thanks!

With Jumbo frames, every device in the network, including switches and firewall has to support and set to the same frame size. Also, this largely depends on your storage server. Some servers do not recommend it. Avid Nexis for example recommends not using it, while EditShare supports it.

Database servers do not need it.

Thank you. I think I've decided not to mess with it. Seems like more headache than it's worth.

For fast and large file transfers using jumbo frames definitely helps speed things up quite a bit.

This is however not just "flicking" a switch on 1 machine, this is part of the network design and all the gear (servers / switch / clients / ...) will need to be configured appropriately.
