Laggy Playback Even with Unedited Clips issues

PostSun Apr 18, 2021 11:45 am

I'm trying to edit an MP4 file and it's super laggy - I've been trying a bunch of stuff and nothings worked. I am using the free version.

specs:

Acer Swift SF113-31
Windows 10
4GB RAM
Intel(R) HD Graphics

Opened a new project, added the clip - says it has a different frame rate so I say yes change to match.
When I play the unedited clip it runs smoothly for like 5 seconds, then it starts lagging.

Looked up all the settings, everything is as it should be.

I am really out of options here. Anyone knows what that is?

thanks

There is no fix for this in the free version on PC. Transcode or get Studio.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Your computer is not adequate to run Resolve properly, especially with only 4GB ram.
Resolve Studio 20.0 build 49
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (572.16 Studio Driver), Win10 Home, Speed Editor, Faderport 1, Calibrated Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ & Samsung monitors for UI, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.
