Hello the dearest community,

How how are you ?
Some days ago, I wanted to work on Resolve 17.1.1. So I ran it.
Unfortunately, a message appeared "DaVinci Resolve quit unexpectedly" = French translation of "DaVinci Resolve a quitté de manière imprévue."

I called Apple, they told me that they are not involved. So I have uninstalled the software, downloaded and installed it again. But it still doesn't work. :(

Help ! I need somebody... :)

I have an iMac Retina 5K, Big Sur 11.2.3, 68,95Go free.

Thanks !

Can't help you but I'm having the same problem. I have a brand new iMac running 11.2. I can work in Resolve 17.1.1 but it does crash a lot. These are major crashes too, kernal panics where the iMac actually reboots itself. After the reboot I get a message saying "There was a problem blah blah and you computer had to restart". I also get these kernal panic crashes even when Resolve ISN'T running. I'm thinking Resolve doesn't run on Big Sur.

DR 17.1.1 run well on big sur 11.2.3
only one crash since install, and open again without restart the computer.

but i did not overwrite from a previous system,
i did a clean install with manual copying of the data
and reinstallation of all programs.

and be shure all of your programs or extensions are ready for big sur.
also, never install any antivirus software!

Hello, thanks a lot for replies.
I think the problem is from Big Sur, because I tried to set the 16.1.2 version of Resolve Studio but the same message appears.
The problem may be bigger than I believed...

My problem seems solved at this point. I initially bought a new iMac with just 8 GB of RAM. I ordered 65 GB from OWC.com ($400 vs $1000 from Apple). After a few months of trying to figure the cause including sending the iMac back for a replacement. I also sent the RAM back where I got it and had it replaced. After working on the new, new iMac without the extra RAM for a month. I install the new RAM last week and so far so good. I think the 1st RAM I installed was the problem. I haven't had any new major crashes yet. Hope it stays that way.

It should. It's running very stable here on a 2017 iMac under Catalina (apart from integrated Fusion).
