Hello Guys,

First sorry for my bad English, i'm French :D

I work on Post production Vidéo and i use Davinci for all my transcoding, (DNXHD36 especially)
I can't find on internet test speed for the new Mac mini with M1 chip and DV v17

I have always big rushes like ARRIRAW OPEN GATE or REDRAW to transcode in DNXHD36 (1920x1080) and i really want to know the ''render" speed for this,

My computer actually is a

iMAC Retina 5K (2014)
4Ghz I7
8go RAM
GPU R8 M295X 4Go,

and when i transcode i'm 24i/s speed,

Do you have informations about the speed of the NEW M1 Mac mini ? is it Worth to change ?

Thanks a lot !

I am also very interested in this test.
On my old home computer (4790K-RX580) I get 33 fps.

On my 2017 iMac I get 77 frames per second (540 seconds of clip transcoded in 7 seconds).
The source was on an SSD RAID, target was a single SSD.

On the MB Air M1 I'm getting only 27 frames. So, it's not there yet. But much faster than an Intel Mac mini without eGPU. It's an Intel i7 with 6 cores and only exporting at 5,5 frames per second.

An Intel Mac mini with eGPU might be your best bet right now. With all the hype around M1, you should get them pretty cheap.
