File exports x4 the size after installing VLC?

So this is odd.

All of a sudden my video exports are around 4x the size they were previously. Same codec, same bitrate - nothing changed in Resolve. I've even opened old projects and re-rendered them and observed the same thing, all exports not HUGE.

The only thing I've done on the machine since the last export was install VLC.

Has it done something odd to the codecs?

File Size = Bitrate X Duration.

To get a larger file, either Bitrate or Duration have to be different.

VLC doesn't touch anything else.
Someone changed something else in the settings (note I'm not saying you changed something, I'm blaming someone)

I'm the only one with access to the machine and no settings have been changed. The bitrate, duration, framerate, resolution - everything is the same. The files I checked hadn't even been opened since I'd done the original exports - no opportunity for any settings to have changed.

What you're reporting just isn't possible, Nate. It's like claiming the water on your stove started boiling at 50 C rather than 100 C.

File Size = Bitrate x Duration. There are no other factors that effect File Size.
