Endcrawl Credits Distorted

PostThu Apr 22, 2021 4:18 pm

Clean shot is what the credits look like as a 4444 file, DCI 2.39, 29.97 file as provided by EC.
Distorted shot is what the credits look like as a 4444 file, DCI 2.39, 30fps file after timeline render.

Is it possible that you replaced the file? Looks like you got the alpha of the previous version. Sometimes Resolve does that.

When it does that, I delete the old clip, re-import the new file and re-edit it to the timeline.

Good luck

Thanks Annael. I did indeed import a 4444 transparency by mistake.
Endcrawl rerendered a 422HQ file- not a transparency file- with the same results.
Please see below.
The one with the robust C in Color Grade Pro is the screen shot of the downloaded 422HQ.
The other is the same file seen in the timeline. The only settings difference between the two is that one is 29.97fps and the other is 30fps.

It looks like you've got an issue either with levels input (Video vs Full) or then color management in davinci. Or maybe you are applying a grade on the file by mistake (timeline node, group)?

Annael, exactly right.
I used a Fixed Node Tree w/ a modified Aces, then converted back from Aces to REC709 at Timeline level. Since I didn't grade the credits, I completely forgot to apply the same FNT to the credits and that blew them up.
