Cut Page Waveform

PostThu Apr 22, 2021 4:20 pm

Resolve 17.1.1 Studio
Just got the Speed Editor and I'm taking a crack at learning the Cut Page. Can anyone explain why the second clip does not show its waveform?

The source media is a multicam timeline. I've found that on the Edit page the audio gets unlinked after I start using the multicam workflow cutting between cameras using the 1, 2, etc keys. Is this a bug or a feature and is this why the waveform isn't visible on the Cut page?

I have the same problem with the cut page, it seems that by design we cannot see the audio tracks on that page. There is one track but only a portion of it is visible, letting us see only the top of the waveform. It makes the Cut Page kinda useless if you need to edit using audio. I am forced to do only rough cuts in that page because I cannot see the audio tracks (I wish I could see at least one track fully). Also we cannot lock the audio tracks so doing ripple edits and cuts might ruin your synchro or mess with your audio (music gets cut etc...)
I did not find any workaround for this problem.

The Cut page would be perfect if we could manage audio like in the timeline, at least see some tracks and be able to lock them.
