Behaviour change, locked project user

PostThu Apr 22, 2021 10:11 pm

AFAIR, if you have a project open in V16 and another machine attempt to open it, you will get the notification about project already open/locked, but also from which user/machine is locking the project.

This seems to be gone in v17. Considering an environment with 100 machines, of which few dozen are home remoting, knowing who has the project open is really important.

I could not find a way in 17 to get that info: is it hidden? Is it gone?

FUN FACT:

If you attempt to open it, it says:

Project in use
You can continue viewing in read-only mode, request the other user to close the project or enable collaboration.

1) I dont know which is the other user
2) being open by the other user, he/she has to activate collaboration.

I think one way that can help could be, upon right click we get the name of the other user and using the internal chat that exist because of collaboration, being able top send a message directly with a pop up box.
