How to add "panels" to sides of vertical video > Youtube

Hey everyone,

I am hoping to edit a "vertical" video (720x1280) to be viewed comfortably on Youtube in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Either 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

I found countless videos on how to underlay a blurred version of the original video and thereby create a landscape version. However, I wish to add "panels" of static images on either side, as can be seen in this video: https://ww w.youtube.com/watch?v=wPlBAXqBy9w

Can anyone give me some pointers or perhaps recommend a good how-to video?

Thanks so much - really appreciate everyone's time!
Craig

You can use the Blanking Fill Effect and in the Inspector in the Effects tab change the Fade Amount to 1, and change the color if you want to.

Then add the images you want to use for the sides in the 2 tracks above, and use Crop and the Transform control to resize and position the images to either side of your video.
