Resolve and Frame.io Integration
Posted: Wed Apr 28, 2021 7:54 pmI am about to embark on a multi-week edit job that has two editors and a color grader. We are all working with Davinci Resolve 17. All camera originals will be uploaded to Frame.io. After four weeks of shooting there will be an estimated 8Tb of data on Frame.io. At the moment, it is my understanding that, if I grab the camera originals from Frame.io and place them in a bin, they will download in all their glory and weight to a loca drive I choose. Editing from these poses no questions as I have the camera originals at hand and I can do as I please with the editing and color grading workflow. What I am hoping for, and it is likely not possible yet, that if I use the Desktop App of Frame.io, I am able to download the hi-quality proxies of said camera originals and do an edit from the proxies, I cannot use the edited timeline to just download the camera originals necessary to online the edit. Seems like a simple thing but cannot find a way to do this. Any suggestions that anyone working with Frame.io has?. Incredibly grateful for any info.
