Audio Level and Markers on Editor Keyboard

PostTue May 04, 2021 8:55 am

I saw the Speed Editor can adjust Audio Level and Markers using the dedicated AUDIO key and jog wheel, but there's no AUDIO key on the Full sized Davinci Editor Keyboard, its a great feature, how do i access it.

Thanks

If you mean the Fairlight Audio Editor there are 2 ways to control level. For clip level there is a 'level' key that you hold down and turning the jog wheel turns the clip level up or down. We use a modified key layout, so our level key is just to the left of the jog wheel when in the edit page. I'm not totally sure where it is in the standard layout, but it is there.

You can also control fader level, when the display screen is set to show pan, the top pot on the left of the screen is level and turning that brings the fader up or down.

have I understood this correctly ?
On the cheap speed editor there is the audio level button but on the $1000 editor keyboard there is not ?

The less expensive Speed Editor is actually a newer product than the larger Editor Keyboard. It's not surprising there may be advances.

What's surprising is that Blackmagic is not upgrading the editor's keyboard to allow both more functionally and to work with the cut page.
