Hi All,
So yes, I did search for forums for a solution to this problem and unfortunately No, I have not found a solution. This seems to be a problem for several people so I know I'm not alone.
Just today I started getting "GPU Memory Full" error. It pops up almost instantly and repeatedly.
It's gotten so bad, so laggy, that I can't even view the video in Resolve.
Here's some details for you:
I've been using DaVinci Resolve for about 6-7 months now; I've been using 17.1.1 (Free version) since it became available.
My laptop has an i7-1065G7 CPU, 16 Gb RAM and an NVIDIA 2Gb video card (I bought the laptop before I knew I would end up editing videos and can't afford to buy a new computer).
I'm editing a ten minute Zoom video. I'm not doing anything fancy, the most complex part of the video is the Delta Keyer for the Green screen and a few Blur transitions between the three Text "boxes" that I have at the beginning of the video.
I do use either Proxy or Optimized video for my projects and while my laptop fans will spin up from time to time while using Resolve I've never had this "GPU Memory Full" error message before.
So far what I've described is how I edit most of my videos (they tend to be 10-20 minutes long, all recorded in Zoom), occasionally I do some more complicated editing, but with this video it's pretty basic.
I tried doing some trouble shooting and discovered that this error only pops up with this video!
When I bring up my other projects (the last one was from last week) I don't get the error message at all.
I am stumped.
The only change that happened was I updated Windows a few days ago, but still I don't get the error with the older projects and I haven't changed any settings in Resolve.
If it was an issue related to the Windows update or any of the settings in Resolve, then one would think that all of the projects would be effected, not just the one I'm trying to work on today.
I don't think I'll be able to complete editing and render this video which is a big problem.
Can anyone help?
Any help that you may provide will be greatly appreciated!
