Copying Metadata Clip to Clip

PostWed May 05, 2021 7:34 am

Is there no way to copy and paste metadata from one clip to another? Searches on this forum and on Google have turned up nothing.

The Metadata tab is on every page save Color and Cut. Click the dropdown to the right to show all or preferred groups. Save time by multi selecting clips.

Good Luck

Thanks Howard. That's not quite what I had in mind, but it is better than nothing, even though it is limited to only a single field at a time (on multiple files). I have used this method in the past. I was thinking more along the lines of the Paste Attributes functionality, where you could select which fields to include in the Paste function, although with so many fields, that might be unwieldy. Thanks for the tip. Cheers.

Actually, it could possibly be done by using a modified Paste command after you have selected several clips and then checked the boxes in Metadata for the fields you want to copy and paste INTO. Since they are already listed there, and show the boxes for multiple entry, it seems it would be an easy extension to add copy and paste functionality. I'll put it in feature requests.

I'm not sure if this was an official update, but you can now paste metadata clip to clip.

1) select color tab
2) click on any clip, select camera raw tab
3) click Decode using, select clip
4) adjust meta data to personal preference.
5) copy using ctrl-C or cmd-C
6) highlight clip or clips you'd like to adjust, and hit ctrl-V or cmd-V

Bampf.
