Audio in timeline Davinci 17.1

PostThu May 06, 2021 11:27 pm

I'm having real trouble syncing music audio as I can't seem to widen the display.

Image

I believe the timeline settings are meant to have a height parameter that can be changed but I can't find timeline settings.

Any ideas how I can make the audio in the video timeline more visible? Is it possible to separate the video/ audio into separate tracks so that I can easily see the audio?

I would suggest you switch to the Edit page to do this as you can have non rectified waveforms and enlarge them making the job much easier.

Thanks, that was really helpful. I was able to sync pretty easy at the start because of your help.

However, further on there's a big problem.

Image

The music track seems to be really saturated. I can't really tell where to sync the next segment at all. Do you know if there anyway to normalise the audio waveform graphically without normalising the sound?

Thanks that was really helpful.

However, as you can see from above, it's difficult to read the main audio waveform later on (bottom). Do you know if it is possible to reduce the main audio waveform representation in size so that the peaks are not cut off?

On the Fairlight page, Ctrl+Alt+Wheel will zoom the waveform without altering the actual levels.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

That track is pretty loud. As a fix highlight the clip, open the Inspector and use the Volume slider to reduce the waveform height. You can always increase it again later if you need to.
