Python 3.6 still not found in Resolve 17?

Hi,

This has been a recurring problem in Resolve 16. I kinda ignored it and ruled as a bug.
But sResolve 17 still can't find the Python 3.6?
May I ask what's the actual python 3.6 path for Resolve?
I just want to manually post the python installation files and be done with it.

Python 3.6 and Python 2.7 are installed but only the latter is recognized like Resolve 16.

I'm referring the post you link in my response below:

I think his reference is in Mac, and I'm not sure it translates to Win.
I tried running this in command linie

Opens the software but I still get the same error (i.e. Python 3.6 not found

I did set-up a PYTHONPATH environment variable.

Am missing an essential set-up? Or is there specific Python 3.6 version Resolve wants?

Since we use Py3.6 when testing scripts in-house, let's rewind and try some basics ...

a. On a clean system, i.e. no python installed, please go to https://www.python.org/downloads/, choose the latest Python 3.6 64-bit installer, double click and go through the installation steps. This will setup the appropriate binaries, as well as the env variables. Resolve should now automatically pick up Python now.

b. Alternatively set a global environment variable PYTHONHOME (edit: probably better I provide formal references than offer OS specific responses) and restart Resolve.

Just want to update that youre method works as expected.
Thanks for answering even though its been address before.

Also just a heads up. I couldn't find any "latest" installer. The one I used is still in 2018.
But it still works:

On Windows installing python-3.6.8-amd64.exe and restarting dr really fixed the problem.

But what about Linux? How do I point dr to find python 3.6?
