Transition question using transparent .png files

PostWed May 12, 2021 4:14 am

I have a PNG with a yellow background on video layer 8. On video layers 9 and 10 I have transparent png files with a logo and title. The logo layers slide in one from the right one from the left. I am trying to slide in layers 9 and 10 over layer 8 but during the transition, the solid png file is transitioned along with layers 9 and 10. How do I correct this?

First thought, select the background image, go the Inspector, and clear any Position keyframes.

Thank you Jim but that didn't resolve the issue. Any other help?

The only thing I can think of that would make a clip move across the screen is some kind of effect. It doesn't just happen.

OK.

Looks like maybe an alpha bug. What specific version of Resolve are you using?

If you just want the two top png images to slide in then out, why not just keyframe their positions instead of using a Transition for their movement?

I am using Divinci Resolve 17.2 Build 11.

I am learning Key Framing as I work on this project. I'm transitioning from VSDC Video editor and this is my first project in Resolve. But thank you for the tip.

For new users, I recommend working through the Beginner's Guide and Advanced Editing. They're a good groundwork to get you working smoothly.

Thank you both for your assistance. I have downloaded the help series and am working my way through the course. Do I need to alert anyone about this issue?

What Transitions are you using, did you try it with a different Transition? You might also want to try the same thing with a sample Timeline that has fewer layers, say just the yellow background and the 2 png's.
