When is a dongle not a dongle?

Before I do something foolish and wreck something, does anyone know whether the Davinci Studio dongle for Version 17.1.1. will work with Studio Version 16?

Until I can get my paws on suitable graphics cards for Version 17, I may have to revert to Version 16 which I was using in its freebie version. It played nice with the GTX-670.

Having the second graphics card enabled in the Studio version will be helpful however I don't want to somehow send the dongle insane.

It is pre-ordained that the Hart breed shall never prosper at games of chance so there is a risk-aversion thing going.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Legitimate Resolve dongles work on all BMD Resolve versions.

Dwaine. Thank you for that. I was a bit fretful that I would stuff something up. However it all sees to be okay working back in Resolve 16.

Now unfortunately, one of the GTX-670 cards experienced a stuck fan and roasted itself. The system goes down with a backscreen crash and has to be restarted. After up to three such events, it comes good so maybe a dry joint has opened up somewhere which goes away when the thing warms up and closes a gap. This was the same fate a previous card went through.

If BM gets into business of making a purposed CUDA card it might be a bonus for the filmies.
