How do I render AV1?

I just downloaded 17.2, and I tried to render to AV1, but I don't see the option. How do I do it?

Does it require supported hardware?

I thought it could work on cpu.
Resolve 19.1.3
i9-13900HX 8p 16e cores
4080 Laptop 12gb
32 Gig ram
2tb WD SN580 NVME SSD

Support for decoding AV1 clips, not for encoding.
