[17.2] Multiple issues, not starting

PostWed May 12, 2021 10:49 pm

I installed 17.1, had no issues for a while, then yesterday I couldn't get superscale to work, I tried reinstalling and a few different things but it ultimately didn't work, logs attached for that. Today I saw 17.2 was available so I updated to that. I uninstalled everything and installed Davinci Resolve 17.2 from the installer, now I can't get past the project manager page. Once on there I can select a project but the open button doesn't do anything nor does double clicking.

Second support zip after I couldn't get project manager working. Onedrive link

Your OneDrive link requires access credentials. Can you put that log somewhere that is publicly accessible?

Here's another link

I tested the other one in a private browser and it seemed to work.. but I made a new link, this one should work.

Nope. When I go there, it asks me to sign into my Microsoft account.

ok.. I've tested across multiple browsers in private browsing mode, not logged in and had others accessing the links and they had no problems. It'd be nice if an option was provided to users for support other than uploading to a personal account of some kind.

Yeah, it worked for me too. No log-in necessary.

If you select New Project, how far does it get?

Today... everything is working all of a sudden. Not sure why, I haven't reinstalled or anything.. I know the logs I uploaded have messages like:
A scanner discovery instance could not be created: Class not registered
[0x000078d0] | UI | WARN | 2021-05-12 00:08:19,118 | Media for Timeline 1 is already unloaded.

[0x00006168] | DVIP | ERROR | 2021-05-12 00:08:19,128 | Net SuperResolution_sr_2x_S2N2 doesn't exist

So something was definitely broken.. any clue how resolve fixed itself and what steps other than "wait till resolve magically starts working" I could take if this happened again in the future?

If it's helpful, when I submitted this post originally, I had tried restarting my PC which hadn't helped. I also tried selecting "new project" which initially didn't seem to do anything but I left the window up for a minute or so anyway. When I gave up and closed the project manager page it actually did open a new project but the window immediately hung and the ui was really basic and blocky like styles and icons weren't properly loaded.

I faced a similar problem.

When the project manager appears for the first time, I can not load some projects, I double click the project name, the progress bar appears, then the project manager dissapears and nothing happens, Davinci is still running on the task manager.

If I load the untitled project first then I can load any project without problems.

I encountered the same problem with the project manager in 17.2 since I have updated a few days ago (Win 10 btw). In my case, when I double click on the selected project or try the open button, nothing seems to happen, no loading or no indication of loading on my mouse cursor, it feels as if you can't interact with the project at all.

On the other hand, this didn't really hinder me since this seemed to happen only randomly, so most of the times projects opened normally after restart. In addition, today I realized that actually even when it seems to be unresponsive and seemingly not loading, it loads in the project after leaving it alone a bit. (I just didnt see any loading bar or anything similar...)

Some update on June 26, 2021: The issue still persists, and pretty often even a PC restart can't help. In addition, more often than not, even the above mentioned 'leaving it alone' won't help.
