Hybrid Log Gamma bug in RCM

PostThu May 13, 2021 4:38 am

Just a word of caution to anyone using Resolve's inbuilt HLG 2100 Scene input inside a Color Managed workflow...

DO NOT enable Input DRT, otherwise your results will be wrong and your clip will be incorrectly tone mapped to a point where your middle gray is sitting in the lower shadows. This happens regardless of whether you're working with an SDR preset (i.e. Rec.709) or an HDR preset (i.e. DaVinci Wide Gamut).

This behavior has only been observed for Hybrid Log Gamma.

I had reported this privately a while ago, but since it didn't get fixed in this latest release I'm posting it so everyone is aware.
