How can I export into webm file directly?

PostThu May 13, 2021 9:00 am

hello,
Is it possible to export directly into .webm file format from DaVinci 17.2?
Currently I export in CinePro with alpha channel and convert it manually with FFMPEG which is a pain in the ass.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your advise in advance.

1) There's nothing called CinePro in Resolve.
2) You can't. A, because you didn't specify a codec and B, because webm isn't supported as an output container.
3) Why the webm container?

If you want smaller files, use H.264 or H.265 from resolve, but Resolve can currently not create the quality/size ratios that x264, x265, AV1 or VP9 can from ffmpeg.

Export a high-quality master and use HandBrake.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Handbrake does a good job, indeed.
For those wondering why webm:I use it as a fallback format in the VideoJS player because some browsers still have trouble with mp4 apparently, so I set the mp4 version first and webm as the second.
