100% CPU usage for several minutes after a trim operation

Hi, I have experienced very strange behavior with DR 17.2. After every trim operation the CPU usage gets to 100% on all cores. After simple trim operation (no matter whether it's done by mouse or a keyboard shortcut) the 100% CPU usage lasts around 1.5-2 minutes. When I moved the mouse for a a few seconds while holding edge of a clip, the CPU usage lasted almost 8 minutes.
I tried to disable all clips to the right of the edited one, turned on and off all caching options and background render, tried to pre-render whole timeline and turn off all effects and remove all transitions. Nothing helped.
Any idea what might be causing this behavior and how to solve it?

My HW:
Ryzen 3900x 12 cores
64 GB RAM
Radeon RX 5700 XT+ 8GB
M2 2TB SSD

I'm using both Windows and Mac on this HW, didn't have time yet to test it on my Macbook Pro. In Windows it behaves almost the same, although the recovery time is a little faster.

Thanks.

UPDATE: The whole time CPU is 100% used the drive reads something with speed 70MB/s (on M2 SSD with 3GB/s read speed)
