Speed Editor not seen by Control Panel Setup

PostFri May 14, 2021 12:53 pm

When Resolve 17.2 launches I'm offered a chance to update the Speed Editor, but when the Control Panels Setup starts it finds no control panels to update.

Further, the Speed Editor doesn't show up in the preferences panel.

BUT...
It seems to function normally.

Any ideas?

After update to 17.2 you have to de-associate the Speed Editor and then re-connect to BT.

Same here.

After update to 17.2, it says I have speed editor update.
But the Davinci Control Panel never shows my speed editor, not even connected wired.
I disconnected Bluetooth and tried again, but nothing changed.

Okay, so remove from Bluetooth and then re-connect?

Reporting back:
Here's what worked for me:

I connected via USB and the Control Panel updated the editor quickly. I then quit, disconnected the USB and relaunched Resolve and the editor connected via Bluetooth.

Pretty straightforward really.

Here is what I did on my PC not Mac. Updated Windows, did clean install of latest NVIDIA Studio driver, uninstalled Resolve Studio 17.1. Then downloaded 17.2 and installed. It indicated new firmware for Speed Editor so connected with USB C cable to PC and installed 1.3, saved and shut down the PC. Boot up again and remove pairing of Speed editor in Windows and re pair Speed editor with Windows. Started Resolve 17.2 and everything works for Speed Editor over Bluetooth .

I've tried all the various fixes but none of them work for me. I have to remove then re-pair the SE keyboard in Windows every time before starting Resolve.

Was working fine before 17.2 and 1.3.

UPDATE: I did a clean install of Resolve 17.2 and now it won't connect to the SE via Bluetooth even after a re-pairing and despite Windows saying the SE is connected.

Okay, I retract my earlier solution. I found I did have to remove the editor from Bluetooth and reconnect it.

Dave, try removing the SE from ur Bluetooth, move it quite away from the system and then power restart, then reestablish the BT connection

Thanks, Peter. Moving the SE away from my PC (by about 2 metres) and then re-establishing a Bluetooth pairing between the SE and Windows allowed Resolve to connect with it again.

However, the initial problem remains: namely that after closing Resolve or re-booting Windows the SE connection is lost. Specifically, after a PC reboot and before opening Resolve, Windows reports that the SE is alternately 'Paired' and 'Connected' with this status flipping every few seconds. As this behaviour is without Resolve running, it would seem to imply that the issue is with SE firmware 1.3 as the problem arose immediately after that update (although Resolve was updated to 17.2 at the same time). Of course, this being Windows, anything is possible.

Also now, when the SE is connected via Bluetooth the battery charge level is no longer shown in Preferences/Control Panels.

I had the same problem, connected via USB, I had to unplug the SE then re-boot DVR and it came back. BUT STILL NO WAY TO TURN OFF BLUETOOTH!!!!

What did the Release Notes for the update say the new and appended features were?

For a long time yesterday even factory reset would not work it was still reporting 1.3. I rolled back to 1.11 it reported an update was available I then updated and reinstalled 17.2 and it again reported an update was available so I updated again.. I repaired and it worked again. I switched off for 2 hours and restat it was working.. Later let's see what happened after an overnight switch off.

This morning Bluetooth was not recognised
I switched off for 8 hours and again it was not recognised
On both occasions however I did get it going as below

Step 1 Hold Cut and Smooth Cut down together
Step 2 Move the Timeline cursor with Mouse and Bingo Jog lit up
This was easier and quicker than going to Bluetooth settings in Win 10

This worked for me as well. Took all of 3 minutes. Totally simple.
