"Selection follows playhead" implementation less than ideal

The new "selection follows playhead" functionality is not implemented very well. I much more preferred the old functionality. This should be on a short cut key command to toggle back and forth. Or maybe a tool-bar icon. Having to find it in the timeline menu every time I want to change it is a pain. Not sure why this was changed. It makes things slower.

And yet I've been wanting this since forever...
Different strokes...

First of all, what new functionality? SFP hasn't changed much (any?) recently. They changed some shortcuts to walk the selection around the timeline, but that's not SFP.
But secondly, you *can* toggle it with a shortcut. It's not mapped by default, so you can map it to whatever you like. It's one I use very commonly, so I'd recommend giving it an easy shortcut; C, H, zero, and most of the F-keys are available without modifiers, by default.

I had the same question. I don't recall reading anything about changes here.
