Needing Help Setting up a Project Server
Posted: Fri May 14, 2021 11:46 pmHi all I am trying to setup a render server for my editing workflow so that when a video renders I can continue working on my editing machine. A while I came across this video and have been using it as a guide to get things set up.
Edit: I am unable to post links but if you were to search YouTube for "How to set up a RENDER SERVER in DaVinci Resolve (Windows Remote Render Complete Guide)" this is what I am using as a guide in this process.
At the moment I am unable to connect my editing station to my render station on my local network here is where I am at right now:
Editing Computer: Eset Internet Firewall, Davinci Studio (Paid) version 17.2, Windows 10
Render Computer: Windows Firewall, Davinci Resolve (Free) version 17.2, Project Server installed, Windows 10
Both computers have a shared mapped drive to the render station under the same drive letter. Both are able to "see" each other in Network places in the same workgroup.
Render Computer has a new database created in posgress and is able to connect to it via resolve, the Editing machine is unable to connect to the server from both an IP address and a connection file. The error I am getting is that I am unable to connect and to check the log files. After some googling in getting the log files it did not show my why my connection was not working.
Did confirm that both firewalls are allow Davinci resolve and posgress to communicate over the network and that the connection is open. When turning off the firewalls from either side I still get the error taking place.
If someone can give me some help to point me in the right direction that would be of great help. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and hope to hear back soon.
