Remote rendering never begins?

PostSat May 15, 2021 1:17 pm

I'm trying to figure out how to use remote rendering. When I click the little wifi-looking icon on a job in the render queue I can select one of the other machines on the network, regardless of whether or not that machine has Resolve open and in remote rendering mode, but after selecting the one that I've set up for remote rendering and clicking "start" it says "ready for remote rendering" but nothing ever shows up on the remote machine and nothing else ever happens. What am I missing?

Thanks!

A quick search found two different walkthroughs that were created for setting this up:

Linux as the remote machine: https://forum.level1techs.com/t/davinci ... nux/138807

macOS as the remote machine: https://mixinglight.com/color-grading-t ... es-dongle/

Yeah, I've seen a lot of those. They all cover the steps I mentioned in my question. In the tutorials they say things happen when you click the render button but, for me, the only thing that happens is the status changes to "ready for remote rendering." I've tried using both a Mac Mini M1 and a Windows workstation as the remote machine and the behavior is the same: nothing shows up on the remote machine. So, either I somehow keep overlooking a critical detail in all these tutorials or there's something different about my situation that isn't covered by them. None of the tutorials I've seen use version 17 so I wondered if maybe something had changed.

It looks like the problem was with sending multiple jobs at once. I was trying to send three jobs at the same time and it wasn't doing anything but when I tried doing just one it worked fine.
