Davinci Resolve 17.2 Render is way slow

I just installed 17.2 and am rendering a project. It is only 2 percent done after 30 minutes. Can something be done to speed this up?

I've seen no difference in 17.2 compared to earlier versions.

Looks like the culprit was the background pic I was using for the green screen fill in. Removing that allowed the render to function normally. I will see if I can find some way to optimize render when a background pic is added.
