Main board Asus prime Z370-P II
CPU Intel Core i7-8700K 3.70GHz
Memory 32GB DDR4 Dual
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
Windows 10 pro
Davinci Resolve 17.2

Ok, So I shot some film, on which a small portion (half a sentence) of audio is unintelligible. I re-recorded the portion, however there’s a noticeable difference between the original soundtrack and the replacement audio snippet, albeit recorded on the same equipment. Is there anything in Fairlight that will easily get over this, or is it a case of trial and error; messing around with the EQ., or similar?
thanks

Matching ADR to production dialogue is largely down to preparation, the performance and recording process, along with placement on the Timeline rather than any specific plugin or processor to correct cues.

Pitch, cadence and breathing during delivery are key to achieving dialogue replacement that realistically matches the original on-screen performance. Wild tracks sometimes assist less experienced performers match the original performance more naturally rather than attempting to perfectly lip sync every syllable.

Match the environment (along with microphone configuration) of the production dialogue such as microphone distance to the performer in a more natural and open environment rather than close micing the performer in a booth or a shoe box room.

Any additional processing only finesses an already solid performance which is appropriately placed on the Timeline in terms of sync, rather than attempting to fix what isn't there in the source.
