Audio edits to tracks are lost during copying -

PostMon May 17, 2021 7:52 am

Hello and thank you for letting me be a part of the forum. I'm not new to video/audio editing, but just joined BMD DVR a few weeks ago. Now I have my first projects with it coming up and I have a lot of questions.

I have a project with over 50 tracks that I organize into multiple timelines (instrument groups). In the individual timelines, many audio edits were made for the orchestral instruments.

The individual tracks from the subtimelines now need to be transferred into a master timeline so that a video wall can be created with the entire orchestra. Unfortunately, all the audio edits are lost when copying. What can be done about this?

I use the latest DVR Studio 17.2 on Windows 10.

There have been quite a few reports of audio issues with nested timelines. My best advice would be to skip them. Do all the work in one timeline.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I should have known that beforehand. :( These are hours of work that I have spent here.

The funny thing is that it works with clip audio edits (e.g. via Inspector). Here the edits are copied as well. If the edits were made in Fairlight for the entire track, then they are not copied. Is there a way to copy the track audio edits in Fairlight to the clip?

I don't know off-hand just because I stopped using nested timelines (for other reasons) once I switched to Resolve.
