Timeline Export / Import fails in 17.2 in endless save loop

I'm trying to import a Timeline from local database project to a clean project in Postgres. This process used to fail at about 97% with resolve 17.1 crashing. Now I can import the exported Timeline as a .drp file; it shows up on the Edit and Color Pages intact but when I then try to save the project I get this error:
Critical Error Saving Project. When I choose the option to preserve the changes by exporting the project this also seems to work. But when I again try to save the project I'm back with the Critical Error message.
Another thing I notice is that the Pre- and Post- group nodes in the Color page are missing even though they are part of the timeline.
This is on a MacPro 2019, Big Sur with 96 Gb of memory.
