Monitor Question

I'm running Studio 17.1.1 on an M1 Mac Mini 8GB (OS Big Sur 11.2.1) that has dual monitors: hp 27er via HDMI and the MSi MAG274R 144Mhz. Both are 17" IPS monitors.

I'm planning on replacing the hp monitor with something else. Should I go with a matched pair and get a second MAG274R? Or should I get something else? I've heard that it's sometimes better to use two different monitors because each one shows colors differently (is this a consideration?). One option is the get the MSi MAG274QRF-QD - which has a faster refresh rate of 165MHz - they say faster is good for gaming but not so important for editing (I do not have interest in using this setup for gaming).

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'd like to keep the budget under $500. Thanks!

I've always favored identical monitors when using more than one.

For Resolve, I recommend 1440 monitors at 27" as a bare minimum.

Most of all, look into monitors designed for color accuracy if you're not going to be gaming on the same system. With your $500 budget, you can get a Viewsonic VP 2768 with 4k resolution and decent factory calibration for Rec.709 color grading. If you only want/need 2560 x 1440 resolution you can save another $100, but if you can stretch the budget for a 32" you'll appreciate the extra real estate.

With one monitor you can trust for color correction, you can use your MSI with any of DR's dual monitor options. Good luck in your search.

Fast monitors for gaming are not advised if it's a TN display, which is far more changing the colors and contrast on viewing angle (if you ever have a client sitting next to you).
And then, I have no problem running two monitors with different resolution, but I'm using MacOS.
