Exporting HDR to Youtube?

PostTue May 25, 2021 6:31 am

I filmed some 10bit footage, created a REC 2020 timeline in DaVinci and then exported my footage. VLC and other software detects this as 10bit HDR footage, however Youtube refuses to detect this as HDR.

I've tried exporting it as H264/265 and DNxHR HQX with Quicktime export.

Unsure of the problem I put my exported footage into Adobe Premiere and exported it and Youtube detects it as HDR although the color space was weird.

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried so many different setting combinations and Youtube just won't detect it as HDR.

Try these settings, adjusting Resolution, Frame rate and Key Frames accordingly.

(The ACES Input Device Transform doesn't need to be set for RAW media, but it will for other media types.)

My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
