color tab - key mixer mask?

PostTue May 25, 2021 1:39 pm

I have 2 keys (A and B), and would like to replace key A by key B, but only within the confines of a mask.

In fusion i would create 2 key nodes, and a channelbooleans, pipe the 2 keys in the fore- and background and connect a mask to the channelbooleans.

I can't really find a way to do it in the color page. can i somehow "mask" the key mixer?

There are some options in the key mixer, but only subtract and intersect, not really region specific.

eventually the goal is to key out some people, with some fine touches on the hair parts. reason to do it in the color pages instead of fusion is because the tools are overall much faster and more reliable for me than the fusion page so far, plus there are some other advantages like noise reduction and quick planar tracking. i also really like the 3d keyer.
