And now for the prize for the most frustrating example of using Da Vinci Resolve.

I am using free version.
I have been using for a couple of months and have been have some success.
My videos have gotten too big and so I bought a new machine to get around the 'jumpy' workflow
AMD RYZEN 4700U with Radeon GPU
32 gigs ram
Resolve 17

The very first time I tried to load my project into the new machine the Media files looked alright but I need to re-link some media files. As I started doing this I noticed and all the Media files went blank. After searching for and trying some answers I gave up and decided to start from scratch.

Generate a new project and copy in one media file. STILL BLANK!
Uninstall Resolve and Reinstall. STILL BLANK!
Uninstall Resolve erase all the BlackMagic files in the user area and Reinstall. STILL BLANK!
Try v 17.1 STILL BLANK!
Try v 17.2 STILL BLANK!

Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Currently after looking at a few posts it seems the the problem is related to version 17. I installed 16 and so far it is not exhibiting the bad behavior.

Not the O.P. but have the same problem.
Used to use Vegas... decided to give Resolve a try.
Fresh install of 17, all media shows up blank. (mp4, mov, jpg, wmv, nothing.)

Windows 10, 16 GB ram, 4Gig Vram
Tried Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050, and intel HD 630... nothing shows up with either.
Uninstalled and reinstalled.
Ran as administrator.
No change.
Any ideas?

Is the monitor plugged into the 1050?

It is a laptop....Disabled the other card in the windows device manager, AND assigned resolve to use the 1050 in the nvidia control panel.

Solved it for me (but not the OP, so your mileage may vary).

Checked video drivers, and device manager said were up to date, but then ran the Nvidia utility "GeForce Experience" which updated the driver...
Now it seems to work.
