Is there live support & calls for Da Vinci resolve problems

Hello! I have been dealing with an audio export issue with my videos for over two months now and I still have not been able to figure it out. Is there any way I could get a live video session or call with somebody so then I can try to figure it out the editing software and get back to editing? Live tech support would be so helpful and I was wondering if da Vinci resolve does that? Please let me know I would love to get some help!

You never detailed your system specification, media file formats or output codec and audio sample rate etc in any of your previous posts, therefore nobody could assist you. If you provide more information you will get a lot more help. It sounds like you are rendering to a low quality codec.

My video format is in Quicktime, my output codec is H.264, my resolution is 1920 x 1080 HD, Frame rate is 30. For audio the Codec is Linear PCM, and the bit depth is 24. I do not know where to find the media file format nor the audio sample rate. Other than that, when I edit the audio runs smoothly. When I export the project it becomes terrible. Advice?

Describe "terrible" as we can't hear it. Or post a link to an example of the problem so we can hear it.

Tell us your input codec (Quicktime is only a container) or specify your camera.
And then tell us about your computer hardware, GPU in particular.

If you are using the free version, this forum is your support.

Sorry for the delay but the audio in various places in muffled, grainy, or high pitch. My input codec is linear PCM and I just use an iPhone to film. My computer is a macOS Big Sur, Processor 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, memory - 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Graphics - Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB. Yes, I am using the free version of Da Vinci resolve so thank you for the help Uli Plank and Peter Cave!

Hi Melody,

Welcome to the forum.

Peter's and Uli's signatures are a good example of how to provide deterministic detail on hardware, OS, driver, Resolve version (build, studio/free), presence of peripherals etc. The FAQs encourage a similar approach when reporting an issue, as it helps minimize clarification requests before users can provide a useful answer.

Having said that, I'm gonna guess you're using a Macbook Air, Macbook Pro or iMac from between 2014 and 2018, and don't have any additional hardware connected. Two things help -
a. adding a URL where users with similar setups can download a sample and check if they have the same issues.
b. running some tests to isolate where the issue is - this can help you work around issues in a specific area.

I've added some sample tests that you can consider below
Regards
Shrinivas

Tests for troubleshooting monitoring/playback:
a. starting with a standard test wav file (many audio professional websites host samples to help with calibration), internal speakers and Resolve preferences set to Auto (reflecting OS device), can you play it back without issue on Resolve?
b. if you toggle Resolve's setting from Auto to Manual and back, does it help?
c. Are there differences between previewing the audio file outside Resolve, in the media page and in the fairlight and edit timelines?
d. If these are fine, does swapping out the standard file with your specific media change things?

Tests for render specific issues:
a. Does it depend on the render codec? Or do all codecs/formats show this issue?
b. Does your render sample rate differ from the clip and timeline sample rates?
c. You can right click and bounce a clip on the timeline to disk. Does this show the same symptoms?
d. If you have effects in your audio chain - internal (compressor/noise/normalise/EQ etc) or external (like AU/VSTs) - does it make a difference if you're rendering with and without the effects.

Do you use the iPhone with FiLMiC Pro? If so, set audio to 48 kHz.
