Masking out moving text

PostSat May 29, 2021 7:09 am

Does anyone know of a good guide or tutorial on removing text from video? Most of the ones I have found on Google or YouTube are not exactly on point. I have white text scrolling on top of a dark landscape and want to remove it so that everything else remains visible. I tried splitting the video apart and covering up the part with the text with a still image (or a looped segment), but there are clouds in the background that change as the video progresses, leaving a noticeable difference. Would this be done in the Fusion or Color tab? Similarly, would the same method be used if I wanted to change the color of the scrolling text while leaving everything else intact? Thank you.

Go back into the software that create the clip and remove the title there. Export out a clean video.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

It’s a clip from a film, and I definitely don’t have the master files!
