Importing XML woes

PostSun May 30, 2021 5:59 pm

Howdy, I often get projects that are edited from other programs, and for the most part, I am able to import them with little issue into Davinci Resolve. I honestly am delighted and amazed that we can oftentimes, successfully do this. That being said, when it doesn't work it can be a drag, and once again I've come across a situation where only some of the footage will import while the rest, even though all from the same GH5 camera, will not import.

I've preloaded all the footage too with no difference in what has been decided to import successfully on the timeline.

I've performed the Reconform From Bins... disabling timecode and enabling Tight Filenames and this seemed to work loading the correct footage into the timeline, however, every clip did not have the correct in/out points. This had worked for me on another project, but using a different camera.

Just wondering if anybody might have any other tricks or advice. Thank you.

Can be quite tricky, but usually you can find a logical reason if you dig deep enough - typically source timecode is incorrect (or read incorrectly) in some way. Check the original footage, and also make sure the project frame rates match exactly between Resolve and the originating application (which is?)
