Audio Plugins not saving in Resolve Studio (V17.2 Build 11)

If I place a Fairlight or third-party plugin on any channel, or bus, or even the master, bus everything works well.... until I save and quit Resolve.
When I restart Resolve, all my plugins are gone on the channels I placed them. This is !@£$%!! irritating and a show-stopper.
For the first time I've decided to try and mix in Fairlight rather than export the project to an external DAW, and this issue just kills me.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I'm using the latest version of macOS Big Sur V11.4 and the latest version of Resolve Studio.
Cheers, Konrad

Are you working in Fixed or Flexi Bus mode?
Project Preferences > Fairlight > Audio Busing Mode

Are the Projects created with version 17 or with earlier versions of Resolve (e.g. version 16)?

Are you able to provide a Project file (without media) that illustrates this behaviour?

Not experiencing this behaviour on macOS as both VST and AU (and Fairlight) plugins are recalled correctly in both Fixed and Flexi Bus Projects.

Hi Konrad,

that does seem odd indeed. Like Reynaud, I'm not seeing this on my system either with both AU and VST plugins.

Maybe some more info would help us help you find and fix the issue...

I am having the same issue and is so frustrating, because we bought different VST audio plugins to stop using Audition and finish everything on Resolve, and we can do it because all VST disappear. I also posted before this issue including samples. I can't believe it.

Thanks for all your suggestions folks!
I've done some experimenting and created a brand new project with the absolutely latest version of Resolve Studio and it has succesfully saved the plugins.
Which made me think of Reynaud's comment about it being an older project.
Indeed it is, I started it at least 10 months ago before Resolve 17 - so some voodoo seems to have been inherited converting the project from 16 to 17.
So now the question is if there is a workaround.
I'll export a DRT and import it into a brand new project... maybe that will cure the problem.
I'll report back.
Cheers again,
Konrad

Well, I tried two solutions and they didn't work.

Within the same project, I created a new timeline and copied and pasted the content of the old timeline into it.
Then I added some plugins to some tracks and everything seemed to work.
However when I quit and restarted, the plugins were gone once again.

Then I exported the timeline as DRT file, created a brand new project and imported the DRT into that.
Then I added some plugins to some tracks and everything seemed to work.
However when I quit and restarted, the plugins were gone once again.

Jeez, this is such a pain.

For what it's worth, the original timeline was originally imported into the Resolve project as an XML.
Could it be that timelines imported as XML somehow flag the orginal state of no plugins when it was imported?
Any suggestions would be welcomed. Cheers.

The two Bussing architectures differ significantly preventing Fixed Bus Projects from being updated completely to Flexi Bus.

Projects created in Resolve 16 should preferably remain as Fixed Bus Projects in version 17.

New Projects created in version 17 default to Flexi Bus unless indicating a preference prior to creating a new Timeline in Project Preferences > Fairlight > Audio Busing Mode.

Did you already found a solution for this?

I have the same problem and it's quite a dealbreaker...My original timeline was also originally imported into the Resolve project as an XML.

I have found a workaround though, after you've applied the plugins make a duplicate from your timeline. If you restart Resolve you see that the plugins are gone on your original timeline but on your duplicate they're still there. It's very strange but it doesn't give me a lot of trust that this is a long term viable solution.
