Video collage newbie help please

PostThu Jun 03, 2021 10:06 pm

Hi - I'm new to this and creating a virtual choir video.

The project has a range of video numbers appearing on video collages throughout the song (say 16 to 7 to 3, back to 7, 16 and so on). Now in hindsight I would probably have created all the video collage templates before progressing, but we live and learn! So now I'm wondering - is there a way to select all the videos at once in only one section of the song? This is where all the clips are cut to the same length and all lined up. I'm thinking similar to in excel where you click on say column B and the whole column is highlighted? Basically I'm wanting to select all in a section so I can then copy and paste the plug ins to all clips in that section (rather than ctrl+a the whole song as I've already assigned and resized content for the full choir collages). Or maybe there is an easier way to do it that I've not discovered yet?

Very grateful for any advice.

OP, in the Edit tab, for example:

To make many tracks visible...
you can drag the horizontal separator bars to make the "video" track section large, and then click the "timeline view options" icon just above the video tracks on the left side, and make the video tracks very small - this maximizes the number of visible video tracks.

To select a "stack" of tracks at a particular time...
you can click and drag starting "above" the top track of interest, down as far as you want to go (such as to track 1 or 2, depending on where your background track vs. first virtual choir collage piece is). You should see all the tracks between your starting and ending point highlight in red.

To paste attributes...
Alt-V (instead of control-V) pops up a panel that lets you select what you are trying to paste. I have not tried pasting plugins across multiple targets, but I believe that is an option that is available.

bounceHouse... Thank you! The selecting a "stack" of tracks is exactly what I was looking for. Your reply jogged my memory from one of the many youtube video's I've watched.

Thanks also for the shortcut tip too! :D
