I am encountering a bug. with version 17.0 it seemed I was the only one, now with version 17.2.1 same problem. Is it still the case?

Cannot export H264 and H265 GPU accellerated
Other softwares (shutter encorder, can do it )

Message says, "Cannot find appropriate codec for encoding the video frame"
"Native" encoding works fine.

On windows 10, Nvidia Zotac Trinity 3080

Yes I am.
I had the problem for a while. In the past Rohit Gupta told me I was the only one reporting it. I hoped something came up in the meanwhile

I don't use h265, but have had no problems with accelerated h264 rendering. What GPU driver version are you using?

OK.

What happens if you uncheck Auto and manually select those same settings?

Can you upgrade to 17.2.x and if it still happens, post resolve generated logs and details about the GPU driver

Someone has encountered the same problem and found a solution?

Jean

Can I check that you used this tool: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us to select the latest Studio driver appropriate to your device?

When installing the Studio drivers, can I check that you chose Custom Installation > Clean Install?

We do see some GPU encode errors from the Nvidia API - so it is likely a driver issue.

Shrinivas

Someone else reported a similar issue with a 1080Ti - in their case they could do H265 / NVENC on 17.0, then it stopped working on 17.1 and 17.2:

Update.

Ne resolve Versione, new clean install studio drivers.

Still fails. Other software can properly hardware encode.

So I routinely update,
On latest not beta version 18.1.4 still not working.
I would ascribe it to the graphic card if it wasn't that other softwares (Shutter encoder most notably).
Can properly use it.

Hoping someone else got the same problem and found a solution.
