Anyone Else's software running Dog-ass Slow for no reason???

PostWed Jun 09, 2021 2:46 pm

Title says it all....

Last night i was cranking through an edit, this morning i get into the studio and the Resolve software is hanging up and hiccupping in playback and even general response. All my other imaging and editing software is ripping right along as expected.... I uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned the registry...no changes to Resolve. I even went back to v17.1 same slow program response.

the unreliability of Resolve has me totally pissed this morning!

For those smart asses that will suggest perhaps its my computer....nope.... and system drive is a 2TB NVMe drive and all storage drives are samsung 850/860 SSD's and the graphic card is an Asus RTX 3090

Windows had an update yesterday. Have you restarted the system?

I've similarly had a lot of problems, even with a very good spec new pc with a 3070 GPU, 32gb ram and three SSDs. The problem for me is that when I bought studio back in Feb this year, I haven't seen much better performance compared to the free version that I would've expected.

I am also having some major issues. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=142565&p=766421#p766421

I opened a support ticket and the first round of advice was to check my GPU selection under preferences. If you have two different GPU cards always manually pick the faster one as selecting both will slow your system down. This did not apply to me as both my GPU cards are the same (se specs below). I am currently waiting on a reply from BMD after reporting no change.

As I said in my email to BMD, if I had a client in the room while making changes to a fusion-based 12 second text with motion blur on it and had to wait for 9-10 minutes for it to render out, with the rest of the timeline basically frozen, with them watching, I would be embarrassed. And would probably lose that client.

Hello All,

Once again, and through no help of tech support, I have resolved my current issue. I found the answer digging through threads on these forums.

ITS THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION OF THE SPEED EDITOR!!!! remove the speed editor from your Bluetooth connections and start resolve....speed and lag issues should be gone. It appears the 100% safe and reliable way to use the SE on a windows 10 machine is via a usb c cable.

Until the next ******** issue, Have a great day everyone!

Peace,
Anthony

And what does one do if they do not have any blutooth devices connected to the computer?

Thanks for this discovery ArtTistic!!

I was using Speed Editor with USB-C and Bluetooth and had random issues too...

But I am also having issues randomly where I just couldn't figure out what it is.
So sometimes out of the blue Resolve would be really slow and lagging even with just one video track.
And then later it would run normally again. :|

But now there's one more thing to check for. Or not. I removed the bluetooth dongle ;)

Regards
