Failed to install

PostFri Jun 11, 2021 8:36 pm

DaVinci Resolve appeared to install ok, but it didn't appear in the Start Menu.

I installed it on drive E: because of limited space on C:

I found resolve.exe in e:\program files\blackmagic design but when I execute it I get

Error

LoadLibrary failed with error 126: The specified module could not be found

Can the software only be installed on c:?

Resolve needs to be installed on your system drive which is normally C.
Resolve Studio 19.0b build 20
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo 860 SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (551.86 Studio Driver), Win10 Home (22H2), Speed Editor, Faderport mk1, Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ GW2270 + Samsung SA200, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.

Hmm, I seem to have messed up. I removed Resolve using the tool at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/top ... f927e1eb4d because Resolve wasn't visible to uninstall.

Unfortunately I still get the same error after installing on c:

I've been following the instructions at https://beginnersapproach.com/davinci-r ... %20More%20

I notice that I didn't have a C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design folder.

I did generate a capturelogs.bat file, but I realize I can't expect support on a free download version. Are we looking at a complete Windows 10 Home re-install?

Your best bet is a larger drive.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
