Weird/Unusable scaling

I see others have hit this, but does BMD have any resolution on this? for instance if I make a timeline that's 3840x1080, do some composing of solids, clips and type. Then drop that into a UHD timeline... I'm not even sure what's happening. Certainly not what I'd expect, which is that I have a flat 3840x1080 composition that retains all the layout, scaling and positions. I've tried all the strange options to no avail. Is there any solution to working in different sized timelines and combining them?
